TDS & TCS Calculator with Interest Computation

For Tax Year 2026-27 under the Income-tax Act 2025 (effective 1 April 2026), with old ITA 1961 sections and new TRACES codes shown for reference. Check whether tax needs to be deducted, compute the correct TDS/TCS, work out interest on late deduction or late deposit, and export a clean PDF — all in your browser.

Is TDS / TCS required, and how much?

Pick the nature of payment, enter the amount, and the tool tells you whether tax is deductible and computes it at the right rate.

How this tool counts months. Interest under section 201(1A) (and section 394/206C(7) for TCS) is charged for "every month or part of a month." In practice the Department treats the month of deduction and the month of payment as two separate months, so a delay that works out to one month is demanded as two months. This tool follows that practice by default — a 1-month delay is charged for 2 months, while a 3-month delay stays at 3 months, and so on. You can switch it off to see the literal day-count computation.

Interest on late deduction / deposit

Section 201(1A): 1% per month for late deduction, 1.5% per month for late deposit after deduction. TCS under section 394: 1% per month.

Important notes. Rates shown are base rates per the Income-tax Act 2025 chart for Tax Year 2026-27 — add any applicable surcharge and 4% health & education cess. If PAN is not furnished, TDS is deducted at the higher of the prescribed rate or 20% (TCS: higher of twice the rate or 5%). Non-residents may claim a lower DTAA rate on furnishing a Tax Residency Certificate. Payments up to 31 March 2026 follow the ITA 1961; from 1 April 2026 the ITA 2025 applies.
